Hemp is a tall, upright, one-year plant that flourishes in almost all temperate climates. Provided it is given beneficial conditions (sunny environment, soil rich in nutrients, heavy irrigation at the beginning) it may grow several meters high. The entire plant is covered with resin secreting glands. This resin contains substances named cannabinoids of which the main stress is put on cannabigerole (CBG), cannabidole (CDB) and of course, the main culprit for hemp's notoriety, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinole (THC).
